Tug was born in a van down by the Conasauga River in The Carpet Capital of the World Dalton, GA. At an early age his parents noticed he was different, maybe more advanced than other kids.
Not long after, a visit with a doctor would revel it was merely lead poisoning. Actually all of that is false with the exception of his stated place of birth. He graduated from Southeast Whitfield High School in 1995. After graduation he went to college for a while until he realized that he was not mature enough to be there and at the very same time was wasting his parents hard earned money. Being from a military family he joined the United States Navy and was sent to the Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes Illinois for boot camp. Following graduation of basic training was sent to OS-A School at Dam Neck Virginia and later to USS South Carolina, home ported in Norfolk, VA. Spending 3 years aboard SoCar, he was recommended for flag allowance and sent to Commander Carrier Group Six (COMCARGRUSIX) a two star Admirals Staff in Jacksonville, FL. He finished up his Naval Career there at Naval Station Mayport.
Tug started his radio career shortly after his honorable discharge from the U.S.N. He was hired as an afternoon news anchor for a local Dalton radio cluster. He did afternoon news for three stations. 8 months later he was moved into the afternoon drive slot on WYYU and then to morning show host just under 12 months after that. He spent two years doing mornings and was promoted to the evening jock on WUSY in Chattanooga, TN. During his time at WUSY the station won a CMA Award and an ACM Award. A job offer for Tugs wife would cause him to leave WUSY and move to Atlanta.
After leaving WUSY, Tug landed here in Kicks Country as the producer of Atlantas Country Morning Show with Cadillac Jack and Dallas. He now lives in Alpharetta with his wife of six years, Laura, and 3 year old son Jakob.
